Fabrication Drafter
Job Description

The Fabrication Drafter will be responsible for creating precise technical drawings and fabrication plans for manufacturing processes. Additionally, the role involves programming CNC machines and working closely with engineers, project managers, and shop personnel to ensure designs are accurate, feasible, and optimized for production.

Responsibilities

  • Develop 2D and 3D drawings for fabrication, machining, and assembly using AutoDesk AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Optimize designs for cutting, CNC machining, and brake press operations.
  • Create CNC programs for milling, drilling, and other machining processes.
  • Interpret architectural submittals drawings to create fabrication plans.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and production personnel to ensure a seamless transition from design to manufacturing.
  • Assist in troubleshooting production issues by providing technical support to the shop floor.
  • Generate bill of materials and other technical documentation.
  • Assist in the development of design and machining standards.
Essential Skills
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Associates Degree or Certificate in drafting, engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency with AutoDesk Inventor and AutoCAD computer-assisted drafting equipment and software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, MS Excel, Bluebeam or Adobe PDF software.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication methods and materials.
  • Ability to read construction documents such as architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings and specs.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with AutoDesk AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, or Solidworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork abilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with milling and machining.
  • Experience designing within Autodesk Inventor.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $90000.00/hr.
