Core Responsibilities:
Performs all activities necessary to select and regulate furnace temperatures for specific treating jobs.
Perform quarterly surveys.
Position material on platen according to operation sheet and load furnace for time prescribed heating cycles to bring materials to proper temperatures.
Remove from furnace when cooled to proper temperatures.
Perform and complete first article inspections utilizing all shop gauging including applicable plate work and visual inspection of parts to ensure proper flow of the process.
Interpret and integrate all processes to ensure consistent, capable parts are manufactured in a production environment.
Learn and adhere to required safety standards and procedures.
Qualifications:
Performs all activities necessary to select and regulate furnace temperatures for specific treating jobs.
Must be able to read and interpret operation sheets.
Interface with Manufacturing, Engineering and other functions on processing issues and works as a team to develop a "capable" process to ensure all parts are processed per standards.
Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment.
Knowledge of Lean Principles and 6S. Drive process and lean improvements.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Technical school for Machinist skilled trade is a plus.
