RESPONSIBILITIES:

Equipment Operator I is responsible for operating dump trucks to haul sand, gravel, cement, stone, dirt, and other materials on highway construction projects. During the winter, this position will operate truck to spread sand or salt on icy roads, hauling snow to a dumping point, and plowing snow. Other jobs include making minor repairs to trucks, construction projects, and driving a power tractor for mowing grass.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EITHER:

A.One (1) year of experience in the operation of a truck requiring a Class B license to operate; OR,

B.One (1) year of public works experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Eligibility and possession of a CDL Class B license with no air brake restrictions issued by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles at time of appointment.

Must be able to operate a standard transmission.

License cannot indicate an E restriction.
