Are you an experienced Construction Estimator with a proven ability to deliver accurate, competitive estimates on projects valued at $20-50M+? Our client, a 105-year-old family-owned commercial General Contractor based in Norfolk, is seeking a skilled Estimator to join their Preconstruction team. Responsibilities Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects ranging from $20-50M+ Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to develop comprehensive takeoffs Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitive pricing Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers during preconstruction to ensure scope alignment Identify and assess cost-related risks and opportunities throughout the estimating process Maintain and update historical cost data and unit price databases for future reference Participate in value engineering efforts to maximize cost efficiency without compromising project quality Support the development and submission of competitive proposals, including schedules and narratives Qualifications 5+ years of experience estimating commercial construction projects valued at $20-50M+ Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Sage, Bluebeam) Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost drivers Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
