Small Jobs Estimator

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Make significant contributions in estimating and administrative support services related to bidding, negotiating, and managing contracts for public and private heavy/civil construction and asphalt paving projects.
• Review plans & specifications
• Perform quantity takeoffs
• Prepare detailed cost estimates
• Review sub quotes & Material prices
• Close out bids
• Prepare written proposals
• Field inquiries from potential customers
• Travel to job sites for potential job sites, take measurements, and meet with customers

Hours will fluctuate based on seasonal needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Customer focused with proven strong customer service skills
• Experience in estimating or managing construction projects preferred
• Education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field of study or equivalent experience
• Paving knowledge
• Understanding of grades
• Strong math skills
• Proficient use of Excel, Word, Outlook (Microsoft Products) and Google Earth
• Ability to read plans and blueprints
• Strong organizational skills
• Knowledge of cost control systems
• Prior experience in the use of computerized estimating, quantity takeoff, and scheduling programs a plus
• Be willing to work nights and weekends when needed and be committed to supporting the company's safety program
• Valid Driver's License and favorable driving record
