Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Make significant contributions in estimating and administrative support services related to bidding, negotiating, and managing contracts for public and private heavy/civil construction and asphalt paving projects.
- Review plans & specifications
- Perform quantity takeoffs
- Prepare detailed cost estimates
- Review sub quotes & Material prices
- Close out bids
- Prepare written proposals
- Field inquiries from potential customers
- Travel to job sites for potential job sites, take measurements, and meet with customers
Hours will fluctuate based on seasonal needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Customer focused with proven strong customer service skills
- Experience in estimating or managing construction projects preferred
- Education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field of study or equivalent experience
- Paving knowledge
- Understanding of grades
- Strong math skills
- Proficient use of Excel, Word, Outlook (Microsoft Products) and Google Earth
- Ability to read plans and blueprints
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of cost control systems
- Prior experience in the use of computerized estimating, quantity takeoff, and scheduling programs a plus
- Be willing to work nights and weekends when needed and be committed to supporting the company's safety program
- Valid Driver's License and favorable driving record
