As a Electrical Apprentice Instructor for PCL Solar's apprenticeship program, you will contribute to our team by:

**ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:**

_Include but not limited to_

+ Using NCCER curriculum to deliver craft instruction.

+ Keep track of a apprentice's & journeymen's daily attendee, making sure that the journeyman to apprentice ratio is 1:1 each day.

+ Track and report apprentice hours daily.

+ Track and report daily/monthly job training trackers.

+ Working with the apprentice Program coordinator for any special needs/accommodation requests.

+ Submit all paperwork to the apprentice Program coordinator.

+ Ensuring evaluations by learners are conducted.

+ Maintaining confidentiality and security of all training and testing materials.

+ Maintaining training and testing documentation for audit purposes.

+ Following all NCCER policies and procedures, including any implemented betweenpublication dates of these Accreditation Standards.

**QUALITICATIONS**

+ Minimum 4 years of experience as a journeyman electrician in the construction industry, preferably solar.

+ Journeyman electrician license preferred.

+ NCCER certified instructor certification a plus.

+ Proven experience in electrical installations, including solar panel systems.

+ Strong math knowledge and skills as related to the job tasks. Able to add, subtract, multiple, and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately.

+ Thorough knowledge of the National Electric Code, safety protocols, and industry best practices to insure electrical installation is per current applicable codes.

+ Ability to read and understand conduit drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, grounding drawings, lighting arrangements, panel drawings, and other specifications.

+ Knowledge and experience in all aspects of electrical installations such as high/medium/low voltage distribution, switchgear, DCS, PLCs and raceways above and below ground, cable tray, cable installation, and instrument installation.

**Physical:**

+ Must comply with PCLs drug and alcohol abuse policy.

+ Must be able to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by PCL.

+ Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, and stairways.

+ Stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights as well as in confined spaces (towers, vessels, excavations, etc.)

+ Able to carry 50 lbs. of tools and/or materials. PCL policy requires getting assistance to lift items over 50 lbs. Check with your project supervisor or project safety director.

+ Must be able to work extended hours on your feet on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel, etc.).

+ Must work all hours needed at the jobsite and possible weekends with short notice.

**Safety/Environment:**

+ Knowledge solar construction site hazards which may require special precautions and PPE. Knowledge of power generating plant and cement plant hazards and special PPE.

+ Must undertake the appropriate safety/environmental training commensurate with the position and location.

+ Understand and implement lockout/tagout procedures as needed or directed in a safe manner.

+ Must be able to read and understand safety instructions, signs, labels, and permits in English.
