- Oversees the investigation, development, design and/or construction of a variety of engineering projects.
- Recommends hires and promotions, directs and evaluates employment decisions for all assigned positions
- Oversees work performed by consultants or assigned in house staff on a wide variety of projects.
- Represents the County with governmental jurisdictions, developers, contractors and the general public on engineering matters.
- Develops bid specifications and reviews bids. Attends construction meetings & project management.
- Assists in the preparation of short and long range plans concerning the divisional needs, estimated costs, available financing and operating and engineering requirements
- Assists in the preparation of the departments budget and water & sewer service rate studies.
- Assist in the implementation of the departments capacity, management, maintenance, & operations plan (CMOM)
Requirements for this position include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:
Completion of a Bachelors degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering
Seven(7) years of professional experience in related phases of public works and stormwater management, or water resources engineering/planning, three of which should be in a managerial or administrative capacity
A valid Illinois Driver's License is required.
Registration as a professional engineer by the State of Illinois is required. Out of state candidates must be able to obtain IL Professional Engineer license within 6 months of employment.
A pre-employment background check is required.
