We are a recruiting and staffing agency partnering with a government department to fill a full-time Utilities Engineer role in Cayce, SC. This is a direct hire opportunity offering a competitive salary and the chance to contribute to impactful public infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform design and administrative reviews of commercial, site, and subdivision development plans. Evaluate plats, specifications, and engineering documents prepared by consultants and developers for accuracy and compliance with codes and standards.
Respond to inquiries regarding water and sewer service availability within the service areas.
Assist with capital improvement projects, including field observation to verify adherence to approved plans and contractor performance.
Support procurement activities by assisting with RFP publications, bid package approvals, quantity estimates, and contractor negotiations under direction from the Director of Engineering and Water Plants.
Prepare project reports and invoices for funding sources. Manage project closeout processes and compile data for reports and recommendations.
Operate drafting and design software, along with other technical equipment and devices.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Strong knowledge of civil engineering practices, particularly in utility infrastructure
Experience reviewing technical engineering documents and plans
Familiarity with water and sewer service design and regulations
Proficiency with drafting/design software and related technology
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external contractors
