Job Title: Backend Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to become a key member of our infrastructure and transportation AI team. Your primary role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining extensive data ingestion pipelines to ensure a continuous and reliable flow of image, video, and GIS data into our cloud-based datastores. You will also implement and manage data workflows using Apache Airflow to automate, schedule, and monitor data pipelines, ensuring efficient data processing and timely delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop large-scale data ingestion pipelines.
  • Maintain reliable data flow into cloud-based datastores.
  • Implement and manage data workflows using Apache Airflow.

  • Ensure efficient data processing and timely delivery.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Python and Scala.
  • Experience with data engineering and distributed systems.
  • Strong skills in multi-threaded programming.
  • Expertise in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience in organizing large datasets for scalability.
  • Understanding of data structures and Kubernetes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Understanding of machine learning fundamentals.
  • Experience with API development.

Work Environment

The team is primarily based in Salt Lake City, with a hybrid work environment for local candidates. Remote candidates will need to travel to Salt Lake City once per month for 3 to 4 days to collaborate with the team. You will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI technology within a startup environment backed by a larger, stable company.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $100.00/hr.
