Position Overview:Medford Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Project Manager to join the Facilities Department. This role is pivotal in managing ongoing and upcoming capital projects, including those related to Medfords capital planning and the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) process for Medford High School. The Project Manager will oversee project timelines, budgets, and coordination with contractors and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, this position supports the maintenance, management, and strategic planning of the districts buildings, grounds, and physical infrastructure to create safe, efficient, and welcoming learning environments.Qualities MPS is looking for:Strong project management and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple complex projects simultaneouslyExcellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilitiesDetail-oriented with a focus on timeline adherence and budget complianceProblem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to evolving project needsCollaborative team player committed to supporting school communitiesKnowledge of facilities management and capital project processes Key Responsibilities:Manage all phases of capital projects from planning through completionEnsure projects adhere to established timelines and budget constraintsCoordinate with contractors, vendors, district and city staff, and external partnersMonitor project progress, prepare reports, and communicate updates to MPS Central Senior Leadership, including but not limited to the Chief Operations Officer, Finance Director, and Superintendent Support the Facilities Department in space planning, utilities management, and environmental controls as related to projectsAssist in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and district policiesCollaborate with the Chief Operations Officer and other district leaders to align projects with overall facilities strategy and goalsContribute to maintaining safe, efficient, and attractive school environmentsQualifications:Bachelors degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferredProven experience in managing capital or construction projects, ideally within an educational or public sector settingKnowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and security systems, is beneficialStrong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, and contract managementAbility to interpret and apply relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to school facilitiesExcellent interpersonal and leadership skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholdersCompensation:Work year is 260 days with flexible full-time hours to respond to project needs and timelines. Competitive salary commensurate with experience, with a pay range of $80,000 to $110,000. Full benefits package provided per district policy. FLSA Status: Exempt
