Facilities Engineer Painter must be proficient and versatile in one or more building trades; electrical, carpentry, industrial plumbing, HVAC, kitchen appliances, swimming pools, and general mechanics. Ability to be forward looking and innovative. Must be able to work cooperatively with others and meet Harrahs customer service standards. Ability to comply with safety policies and procedures. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instruction. Must be able to work unsupervised, schedule own work activities, order correct parts to properly repair and maintain all equipment.

Position Summary: The Painter/Engineer is responsible for maintaining the aesthetic and functional integrity of buildings, equipment, or infrastructure by performing painting, surface preparation, and minor engineering or maintenance tasks. This hybrid role requires both technical knowledge and practical skills to ensure surfaces are protected and systems operate efficiently.

Painting Duties:

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primers or sealers.

Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.

Match and mix paint colors to specifications.

Maintain painting tools and equipment in good condition.

Follow safety protocols when handling chemicals and working at heights.

Engineering/Maintenance Duties:

Perform routine inspections and minor repairs on mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems.

Assist in setting up scaffolding, ventilation, or safety equipment for painting or maintenance tasks.

Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, or maintenance manuals.

Collaborate with other technicians or contractors on larger repair or renovation projects.

Maintain logs of maintenance activities and material usage.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in painting or maintenance is a plus.

2+ years of experience in painting, facilities maintenance, or a related field.

Familiarity with safety regulations and protective equipment.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Physical stamina and dexterity to lift, climb, and work in various environments.
