The Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking highly driven individuals to apply for the position of Maintenance Operations Supervisor.

Under general direction, the Maintenance Operations Supervisor coordinates, schedules, and supervises the work of personnel and contractors responsible for the construction, modification, maintenance, repair and alteration of facilities.

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following

Knowledge:
  • Practices, processes, techniques and materials used in the construction and maintenance of buildings and related equipment and facilities
  • Use and purpose of tools and electrical equipment related to building repair and maintenance
  • Methods and practices of building maintenance and repair, basic construction, painting, electrical repair, HVAC maintenance, and plumbing
  • Building inspection techniques and practices
  • California State Occupational Safety and Health (CAL-OSHA) laws and regulations related to building and safety
  • California Education Code related to construction and facility maintenance
  • Safety practices as applied to building maintenance and repair
  • Fundamental concepts of employment laws, codes, and regulations, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, and Cal/OSHA and applicable provisions of collective bargaining agreements

Required Education and Experience Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.

Experience: Three years of experience in building maintenance or construction, including two years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity with responsibility for the work of maintenance staff.

Equivalency Provision: A valid California driver's license proof of insurability and the availability of private transportation or the ability to obtain transportation between job sites is required.

Selection Process Candidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a multiple-choice exam, a performance evaluation, and a structured interview.
