About the Role:
We are a well-established federal contractor seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to manage ongoing VA Hospital projects in Long Beach. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing daily field operations and ensuring compliance with federal construction standards. The right candidate will have a solid background in healthcare construction, especially within VA facilities, and a strong command of Procore, safety regulations, and team coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as Tri-Hat Superintendent on-site, overseeing Quality Control, Site Safety, and Daily Operations.
Use Procore daily for RFIs, submittals, daily reports, QC logs, as-builts, and safety documentation.
Maintain and update three-week lookahead schedules and lean board activities.
Coordinate closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to meet project goals.
Enforce all jobsite safety measures per OSHA and federal guidelines; promote a safety-first culture.
Conduct regular jobsite inspections to ensure high-quality, compliant work.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and the VA to resolve constructability and technical issues.
Lead and mentor jobsite personnel to maintain a positive, productive work environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years experience as a Superintendent on federal construction projects (VA experience strongly preferred)
OSHA 30 certification required; EM 385-1-1 training preferred
Familiar with ICRA protocols and VA permitting procedures
Strong background in tenant improvement (TI) work and managing hospital/healthcare renovations
Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Procore
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, drywall, framing, and painting is a plus
QCM certification or training highly desirable
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $90,000$105,000 (DOE)
