Medela is seeking a Sr Contract Analyst to join our Commercial Operations team.

Medela's US-based manufacturing and development facility is headquartered in McHenry, Illinois www.medela.com This position requires an on-site presence in McHenry, IL.

Education/Experience Requirements - Sr Contract Analyst

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum five years' experience in contracting, pricing and rebates, or related role is required
  • Experience with reading, interpreting, and recommending contract language preferred
  • Experience in the Medical Device industry and experience with analyzing data and working with Sales and Finance teams
  • Strong computer and internet skills; experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Power BI skills helpful
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with SAP is preferred
  • Experience working in an environment with global objectives
  • Must be able to read, understand and communicate in English
  • Travel up to 10% of the time

Position Responsibilities - Sr Contract Analyst

  • Has an enterprise-wide understanding of all customer contracts.
  • Works closely with Contract Manager and Legal to manage compliance, contracting, and pricing risk for the company.
  • Review standard and non-standard contract submissions by GPOs, IDN's Distributors, and customers and recommend changes (red-lines) to Contract Manager, legal and appropriate internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain business knowledge as the expert for large customer contracts; provide training, direction, and guidance to broader Medela teams to ensure compliance with the terms of customer contracts.
  • Act as a key operational liaison between internal organizations to accomplish proper support of the Sales, National Accounts, Legal and Marketing teams and the customer to achieve appropriate support of customer contracting processes, including contract compliance, contract preparation and negotiation, RFI/RFP requests, cross reference requests, etc.
  • Utilize contract software tools to manage contract process and approval workflows as well as proper documentation and storage of contracts.
  • Ensure standard contract language is current to support efficiencies in the customer contract process.
  • Act as a key operational liaison between internal organizations to accomplish proper support of customer pricing execution, contract execution and contract life-cycle management processes.
  • Act as a key operational liaison in preparing contract and pricing agreements to support the customer contract process to ensure contract and legal compliance as well as pricing and capital equipment strategies established by the business.
  • Prepare, develop, and analyze data to evaluate the profitability of GPO, IDN, Distributor, and customer contracts.
  • Execute and manage process for pricing eligibility as it relates to the terms of customer contracts. Including direct communication with customers, GPO's, IDN's, and Distribution partners to govern contract and pricing compliance.
  • Develop and maintain contract related metrics.
  • Responsible for managing and executing contract obligations (rebates, payments, reporting, customer data management) accurately and on-time to insure Medela compliance with contract obligations.
  • Execute and manage process for GPO programs to insure Medela compliance to the program.
  • Execute standard and non-standard contract pricing activities for the organization, act as key liaison for internal partners to troubleshoot issues.
  • Support pricing and contracting activities for new product launches.
  • Responsible for communicating material changes, adds, obsoleting to customers per contract requirements.
  • Prepare, develop, and analyze ad-hoc reporting as necessary for the business as well as internal and external customers.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements opportunities for enhancing contract processes and templates.
  • Executes process improvement activities for new policies, procedures and technologies to support business processes.
  • Identifies, recommends, and implements opportunities for enhancing sales, pricing, and sales operations productivity and efficiencies including enhancements to SAP ERP system.
