Collins Engineers has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager (Waterfront) to join the team in our East Greenwich, RI office. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced engineering professional with a deep understanding of structural design in the marine and waterfront industry and demonstrated experience managing complex infrastructure projects. They possess strong leadership and communication skills to guide teams, cultivate client relationships, and ensure project delivery aligns with financial, technical, and scheduling goals. They combine technical credibility with strategic insight, excelling at cultivating long-term partnerships to guide successful project pursuits and position the firm for continued growth. This role contributes to the overall success of the organization by performing the following duties:

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides expertise in complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
  • Oversee the use of computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Provides leadership on multiple projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Assist in ensuring that external client focus is a top priority of the region and those systems, processes, and activities that focus on the client at all levels of the region are implemented.
  • Prepares agreements and contracts, sets project goals, fees, schedule, budget, and staffing needs.
  • Serves as project manager on complex projects and as designated client contact.
  • Regularly reviews schedules, deadlines, and budgets to ensure profitability.
  • Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
  • Maintains an understanding of project financials by ensuring accurate client billings, reviewing invoices, and monitoring outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Assists in business development efforts.
  • Leads the pursuit process, including proposal preparation, project scoping, estimating project costs, contract negotiations, project planning, and project quality.
  • Provides leadership to project teams and support staff.
  • Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
  • Remain active in technical societies.
  • Publishes engineering papers and/or articles.
  • Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Relocation is available

The base salary will be estimated between $140,000 - $180,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.
  • 10 years or more with progressive experience in project management.
  • Experience with the evaluation and structural design of infrastructure including, but not limited to, waterfront structures, ports, and/or marinas.
  • Experience with public agency, federal agency, port authority, and municipal clients a plus.
  • Maintains competency in and serves as major firm resource in field of expertise.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
