Collins Engineers, Inc., is seeking a motivated Structural Project Engineer II to join our team in our Portsmouth, NH office. The ideal candidate for this role is a highly skilled engineering professional with technical expertise in infrastructure evaluation and structural design in the industrial/energy industries. They excel in analyzing complex field and design issues, conducting thorough engineering computations, and producing comprehensive engineering plans while ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards. With strong problem-solving abilities and proficiency in advanced design software, they contribute to innovative solutions while maintaining a commitment to technical excellence. This role contributes technical expertise to the successful execution of projects by performing the following duties:
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides technical engineering expertise to the project manager and/or client to ensure the project complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.
- Reviews, analyzes, and resolves field and/or design issues.
- Performs complex engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
- Prepares complete engineering plans or reports.
- Demonstrates strong proficiency in computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
- Makes design recommendations and/or adaptations.
- Responsible for engineering projects of varying size and complexity in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.
- Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of assigned project work.
- Tracks project budgets and timelines for assigned tasks and apprises the project manager of potential or anticipated changes in scope.
- Assists in coordinating project schedules and timely completion of projects.
- Assists in proposal preparation, project scoping, and estimating project costs.
- Directs and supervises the work of other engineers, technicians, drafters, and administrative staff.
- Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
- Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
- Stays active in technical societies.
- Publishes engineering papers and/or articles.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Relocation is available
The base salary will be estimated between $110,000 - $140,000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and/or master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.
- At least 5 years or more experience in project engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification.
- Experience with the evaluation and structural design of infrastructure including, but not limited to, energy and industrial facilities, marinas, ports and/or bridges.
- Experience with various design codes including, but not limited to, API, IBC, AISC Steel Construction Manual, AWS, PCI, and AASHTO a plus.
- Experience with various design software including, but not limited to, STAAD, RISA, Revit, AutoCAD, and Mathcad a plus.
