Job Brief:
The Instrument Fitter shall perform the assembly and installation of precise instruments that measure, indicate, transmit, record and control. Also have the ability to bend conduit, tubing, and install supports for required systems.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan layout and installation in accordance with instructions or work requirements using drawings, blueprints, sketches and manuals.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install primary piping and tubing.
- Installs associated support structures, components and tubing.
- Measure, cut and assemble tubing tray and tubing tray support systems.
- May calibrate instruments or test equipment according to established standards.
- Perform tube bending; tube bending in groups; install instrument stands.
- Perform tube bending; install instrument stands, tube tray, instrument air headers, instruments, screw pipe.
- Replaces defective parts and components.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Skills / Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in industrial construction/maintenance industry.
- Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
- Must have all required tools.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings to fabricate their work.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test (required for safety-sensitive roles).
- Completion of a criminal background check, with results assessed based on relevance to the position.
- Verification of a clean driving record, as defined by Control Tech's standards (e.g., no major violations, no more than 3 infractions in the past 5 years).
