Iteris, Inc. is seeking a full-time Inside Wireman Electrician Apprentice for various Transportation System projects located throughout Southern California. The identified candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn Electrical trade skills and work with Journeyman Electricians to perform the execution of this work. This individual will directly contribute to additional revenue production and backlog consumption.

What you will be doing:

Satisfy and maintain all electrical apprentice requirements including classroom and on the job trainings

Attend two (2) weeks of trade school (sponsored by Iteris), every 6 months and maintain good standing in the apprenticeship program

Work alongside the Journeyman Electrician in performing installation, maintenance and repair of electrical infrastructure, circuits, devices, and equipment

Learn operations and maintenance of spray machine and associated equipment for painting traffic signals and related equipment

Ability to assist and learn lane closures from the Journeyman and follow W.A.T.C.H. manual handbook guidelines

Perform all job functions of Transportation Systems Electrician Apprentice and any other assignments as requested

Performs other duties as required and assigned

Must be able to work different shifts depending on workload and need

Must be available to be on-call to support emergency needs for nights and weekends

Must be able to use shovels and other hand tools to excavate underground conduits, pull boxes, etc.

Some business travel from site to site within the state of California is required as this is a trade position

Some overnight business travel may be required

What you need to be successful in this role:

High school diploma required

Must have a valid Driver's License and an acceptable DMV record; experienced driver preferred

Must be enrolled in the ABC Electrical Apprenticeship Program and pass the enrollment exam within 30 days

Obtain IMSA Certification within in 6 months of hire, and obtain one NEC certification within twelve (12) month of qualification for the exam

Must have 0-2 years of industry experience as an Electrician Apprentice

Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

Knowledge of basic hand tools, equipment, practices, and methods used in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, devices, and related equipment

Ability to exert moderate physical effort, typically involving, some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 50 pounds)

Must be able to complete work activities using a bucket truck at heights of up to 45 feet

Iteris anticipates paying $25.00 for this role. However, actual pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to the base rate, prevailing wage rates will be paid when working on public works construction projects.
