Purpose of the Position:** We are looking for a **skilled single ply roofer** to join our team. This position focuses on the installation, repair, and maintenance of TPO, PVC, and EPDM roofing systems.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with thermoplastic membranes, is detail-oriented, safety-driven, and committed to high-quality workmanship in a collaborative team environment.
**Primary Duties and Responsibilities:**
**Single Ply Roofing Installation and Repair:**
o
Apply insulation and cover boards with adhesives or mechanical fasteners as specified.
o
Install TPO, PVC, and EPDM roofing membranes using fully adhered, mechanically fastened, or ballasted systems.
o
Weld seams using hot air welding tools and ensure watertight integrity.
o
Flash penetrations and terminations per manufacturer and project specifications.
o
Identify and repair damage or leaks in existing systems.
**Safety and Compliance:**
- - Follow OSHA safety guidelines, including proper use of fall protection, PPE, and ladders.
- Understand safety risks associated with working at heights and in extreme weather conditions (heat and cold).
- Participate in regular safety training, jobsite inspections, and compliance checks.
**Teamwork and Communication:**
- - Work closely with other crew members to complete projects efficiently and accurately.
- Follow supervisor instructions and communicate effectively with team members.
- Ensure a clean and organized job site.
**Required Qualifications:**
- Minimum 2 years of experience with installation and repair of TPO, PVC, or EPDM roof systems.
- Ability to read roofing details, follow specifications, and perform precise work.
- Proficiency with hot air welders, screw guns, roller applicators, and other related tools.
- Strong understanding of roofing safety standards and ability to safely work at heights.
- Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold, and unpredictable Texas weather.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Comfortable climbing ladders and safely working on steep slopes at heights.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in hot and cold Central Texas weather conditions.
**Working Conditions:**
- Work is conducted outdoors at commercial roofing worksites.
- Must be comfortable with exposure to varying weather conditions and heights while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet project timelines or address urgent safety concerns.
**Reporting Structure:** Reports to the Ft. Cavazos Operations Manager.
Works under the supervision of project managers and the Safety Director.
**Pay Type: This** is a full-time, hourly position with opportunities for overtime pay and bonuses. The pay rate depends on the applicant's qualifications and years of experience.
**Candidate Requirements:**
As this position will be working at a government project site, there are additional requirements that are
mandatory for candidates to be considered for a position with Johnson Roofing.
Inability to comply with any of the following are immediate disqualifications for this position:
Successfully pass a NCIC-III background check conducted by the U.S. government.
Violations include, but are not limited to:
o
A claimed identity that cannot be verified based on the reasonable belief that the person submitted fraudulent identity information in the attempt to gain access.
o
Current arrest warrant in NCIC, regardless of the offense or violation.
o
Current bar from entry or access to a federal installation or facility.
o
Conviction of crimes encompassing sexual assault, armed robbery, rape, child molestation, production or possession of child pornography, trafficking in humans, or drug possession with intent to sell or distribute.
o Conviction for espionage, sabotage, sed tion, treason, terrorism, or mu
