Amentum is seeking a 2nd shift Facility Maintenance Plumber for our
industrial operations & maintenance teams in Davenport, IA.
- Typical hours: Monday - Friday 3:00 p.m. 11:30 p.m. may vary based
on customer demand.

Responsible for providing advanced level of expertise in responding to
work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventative maintenance on
the industrial or commercial related to general facilities and utilities
systems and equipment to include but not limited to plumbing and
mechanical equipment, motors, pumps, piping, drains, and other equipment
as directed.
\
**Responsibilities:**
- Assists in performing and responding to work orders associated with
building equipment
- Inspects major equipment and/or operating systems and takes
corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensures all appropriate mechanical operations, standards, controls,
and specifications, are maintained at a high level of quality.
Systems/Equipment to include pumps, fans, cranes, heat exchangers,
valves, etc.
- Assembles, installs, and repairs pipes, fittings and fixtures of
heating, water, and drainage systems according to specifications and
plumbing codes, studies building plans and working drawings to
determine work aids as required, and sequence of installations.
- Assembles and installs valves, pipefittings and pipes composed of
metals, such as iron, steel, brass, and lead and nonmetals such as
glass, vitrified clay and plastic.
- Joins pipe by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic
solvent and caulks joints, fills pipe system with water or air and
reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking,
installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes,
bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units,
dishwashers and water softeners.
- Repairs and maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky
faucets, mending burst pipes, and opening clogged drains, and may
weld holding fixtures to steel structural members.
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs industrial facility mechanical
systems, facility equipment and systems, pneumatic and/or hydraulic
systems.
- Performs preventive maintenance inspections and actions such as
lubrication, cleaning, filter changes, etc.
- Troubleshoots and repairs blowers and fans, heat exchange equipment.

- Performs basic pipefitting repairs.
- Works within the context of a team and at times with minimal
supervision
- Ensures excellent customer service and safe work environment
- Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor
**Minimum Requirements:**
- High School graduate or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- 3+ years experience in the field of mechanical maintenance and
plumbing.
- Must have hands-on experience in the maintenance, repair and
operation of mechanical building systems.
- Systems experience should include areas such as: plumbing, steam and
hot water boilers, air handling units, pumps, compressors, air
dryers, and exhaust systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Friendly, cooperative, customer service-minded attitude; team
player.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office software (i.e. Excel, Word,
and Power Point)
- Attention to detail and excellent follow up skills.
- Ability to read and understand repair manuals and drawings.
- Ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and initiate
repairs.
- Experience working with and understanding Standard Operating
Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions.
- Apply proper safety practices nd follow procedures while performing
maintenance tasks.
- Some travel may be required.
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a
pre-employment substance abuse test.
- This position requires a valid Drivers License.
- This position does not include sponsorship for United States work
authorization.
- This position will require the ability to obtain a security access
badge at our clients location.
- Must be willing to work overtime, various shifts, weekends, holidays

stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.
