Location: New Carrollton Metro Building WMATA Reference: 250537 Washington Metro Transit Authority is Seeking an IT Supervisor for Network Technology Operations & Maintenance. The incumbent will possess strong technical expertise to supervise network equipment installations, oversee the operation of all voice and data networks, manage communications systems, and implement telecommunications and IT-related projects. The IT Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the continuous 24/7 performance and reliability of the network.

The position plays a critical role in driving service excellence to our customers & employees and continuous improvement within the IT service delivery environment

SUMMARY The Supervisor, Network Technical Operations & Maintenance job is a supervisory and highly technical position responsible for installation, operation, and maintenance of WMATA voice and data networks, communications systems, and the implementation of all telecommunications and Information technology projects. The role supports WMATA's commitment to safe, equitable, reliable and cost- effective public transit services. The incumbent serves as the custodian of WMATA's Metro web and all WMATA's emergency telephone systems. The incumbent builds working and cross-functional relationships and partnerships with other departments, offices and work teams to ensure that all WMATA telecommunications and information technology networks and systems operate in a robust and secure manner for the good of our internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Plans, designs, assigns, and supervises the installations, operations and maintenance of the devices and systems for Metroweb- Voice and Data networks. Plans, supervises, and evaluates the installations, operations, and maintenance of assigned emergency telephone systems at WMATA. Ensures that the emergency trip station telephones, the garage emergency telephone system and the area of refuge assistance are available and operational. Ensures maintenance of emergency telephones is performed in accordance with National Fire Protection Association 130, Federal Transit Administration and Federal Railroad Administration regulations as well as Information Technology Network Communications System standards, processes, and procedures. Evaluates, plans, and provides technical oversight for assigned project initiatives. Ensures compliance with Information Technology Network Communications Systems' standard requirements, best practices of Project Management, International Standardization Organization 9001:2015, and Quality Control and Assurance Processes. Plans, assigns work, and supervises corrective maintenance corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance workorders daily. Evaluates and reviews resolved corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance work orders for assigned areas/systems. Plans, defines, develops, and maintains processes and procedures for daily operations, installations, and maintenance. Also evaluates current processes and procedures to identify adjustments and modifications for improvement. Submits proposed changes to management for approval. Reviews and processes telecommunication service requests and work orders for Moves, Adds and Changes and maintenance requests associated with the business telephone and Data systems. Compiles, develops, and maintains records and statistics on network availability, performance, reliability, inventory, repair history, and other vital statistics needed for management upgrade decision making. Serves as a primary guidance resource to facilitate quality, on-time execution, and delivery of the work product. Plans and conducts training needs assessment and analysis for subordinate Information Technology Network Communications System Operations employees. Monitors external technology developments necessary to keep pace with the rapidly changing information technology devices, systems, and practices. Builds and maintains effective working relationships and partnerships with individuals, other business units and work teams. Plans, develops, and supervises the stakeholders' requirements process, constraints, trade-offs, and the scope of work. Evaluates proposals and prepares matrix for selecting vendor in support of multiple projects. Ensures stakeholder buy-in and support. Prepares and delivers weekly reports covering work activities and status projects and the Manager, Network Technology Operations' daily reports of work. Contributes to the Information Technology Network Communications System Operations Monthly Report. Monitors and evaluates each direct report's performance, professional development and keeps minor human resources records, including performance notes. Other Functions Maintains and promotes awareness and accountability with safety policies and procedures while performing job functions. Promotes a positive safety culture and encourages reporting of safety concerns consistent with our Agency Safety Plan, other regulatory requirements within the Safety Management System and just culture principles. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education High school diploma or GED with two (2) years of cumulative technical training (vocational, journeyman, apprentice, etc.) in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Local Area Networks, Wide Area Networks, Network Cabling Infrastructure, or Voice over IP and Analog Telephony Services.

Experience Four (4) years of experience in technical support and operations, network installation, operations and maintenance, managing complicated projects, preventive and corrective maintenance, team building, employee management and development, research & strategic planning, process and procedure development and review, conflict resolution, customer service, and safety compliance.

Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in Telecommunications and/or Information Technology. Cisco Certified Network Associate; or Cisco Certified Network Professional Medical Group: Satisfactorily complete the medical examination for this position, if required.
