GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

The Field Operations Manager - Custom Plumbing is responsible for the design, leadership, and execution of operational strategies for Stancil's Custom department. This role oversees all field operations from project inception through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and with the highest quality standards.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee all field management personnel (Field Managers, Area Managers).

  • Lead the full project lifecycle from Business Development through Estimating, Execution, and Close-Out.

  • Directly manage subcontractor and in-house labor performance, onboarding, and compliance.

  • Serve as the operational leader in Business Development client meetings, proposal strategy, and estimating review.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Manage all aspects of construction project execution, including planning, scheduling, and supervising project flow.

  • Maintain real-time oversight of project profitability; actively manage budgets and labor resources.

  • React swiftly to project changes and quick-turnaround wins; ensure readiness to always execute.

  • Lead field teams to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality work.

  • Own safety performance by monitoring compliance and coordinating closely with the Safety Director.

  • Continuously develop field managers through training and expectation setting.

  • Partner with the Business Development team to deliver elevated, custom client experiences and winning proposals.

  • Own final review of estimates and material/labor pricing strategies.

  • Bridge the gap between Estimating and Field execution to ensure accuracy and profitability.

  • Aware of P&L for the Custom Department.

  • Maintain and drive margin improvements through operational discipline and proactive leadership.

  • Support AR/AP processes, assist in contractor payments and receivables collections.

  • Monitor and drive client satisfaction across all Custom projects.

  • Lead all escalations and ensure rapid, intelligent solutions that protect client relationships and company reputation.

  • Conduct initial and recurring training for new Field Managers.

  • Support internal operations through collaboration on process improvements and technology adoption.

  • Lead operational meetings and drive accountability across the Custom Department.

  • Review MTAs, scope of work, and purchase orders as needed.

  • Maintain clear and timely email communication with all stakeholders.

  • Assist in asset oversight for the department and ensure proper vehicle resource allocation.

  • Support Warranty team as needed with project history, SOPs, and issue resolution.

  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, promotions, and compensation reviews for the Field team.

  • Develop and implement operational best practices to enhance efficiency and profitability.

  • Partner with Internal Ops to integrate new services or refine existing processes.

  • Monitor field tools to ensure adoption and effectiveness; continuously improve field systems.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

  • High school graduation or other equivalent (i.e., GED, college, technical or trade school transcript, foreign equivalency, etc.).

  • Microsoft Suite

  • Ability to learn new software systems specific to the business

  • 5 years of field management or construction management

  • Fluent in Spanish a plus but not required

  • Valid driver's license and insurable with company insurance policy

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS

  • Primarily an office-based role, with travel to on-site locations.

  • This position requires working in an office and field environment.

  • Individuals may be exposed to varying temperatures including very hot (above 90 degrees F) or very cold (below 32 degrees F) and all-weather conditions.
