Fabricator

Summary

Fabricator (welder) of hollow metal doors and frames.

Essential Functions

• Handles hollow metal doors and frames weighing from 60 to 150 pounds
• Performs fabrication on these products including:

o Welding parts together

o Using jigsaw or other power tools to cut holes in doors and frames

o Using 40 pound electric grinder to smooth out welds, etc.

o Installing vision kits and glass in doors

o Using electric drills

• Reads Work Orders and Product Templates to establish necessary fabrication to be performed
• Other relative duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
• Forklift certification preferred
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge of architectural door materials and hardware
• Good communication skills
• Ability to accurately do arithmetic, read orders, write instructions and complete forms
• Ability to work closely and cordially with other staff associates
