Role Overview The Commercial Roofing Estimator is a critical position responsible for planning, estimating, and proposing commercial roofing and related projects. You'll need to interpret project requirements, attend site visits, generate detailed estimates using The EDGE software, and deliver precise proposals while coordinating with General Contractors (GCs) and internal stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Create and manage detailed project estimates and proposals Download and analyze project drawings, specs, and related documents Use The EDGE Estimating Software for take-offs, labor/material pricing, and proposal creation Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits (including roof cores, measurements, and material assessments) Coordinate with manufacturers/distributors for accurate material pricing Submit proposals to multiple GCs and follow up to assess bid competitiveness Support change order proposals and participate in estimating team meetings Conduct scope reviews when selected as the preferred bidder Qualifications & Skills Required 5+ years of experience as a commercial roofing estimator Proficient in The EDGE estimating system (mandatory) Familiar with commercial roofing systems and manufacturers Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications Exceptional math, logical reasoning, and project scoping abilities Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skills Local to DFW and available for in-person meetings, site visits, and pre-bid conferences Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required Schedule Monday to Friday Weekends as needed (based on deadlines or site visits)
