Senior Staff Engineer - Civil & Geotechnical Location: Fort Collins, Colorado Job Description: This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities that make it both challenging and rewarding. The successful candidate will be involved in various project phases including mine permitting, operations, and closure design. The position demands strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the flexibility to travel for temporary assignments. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams-including geotechnical, civil, mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineers-to meet client expectations and project goals. Typical duties include (but are not limited to): Support project management Perform analyses and prepare reports/drawings Supervise and mentor junior staff Interface with clients Assist with proposal development, marketing efforts, and cost estimates Support project work in other market sectors as needed Participate in construction management activities as required Requirements: B.S. in Civil Engineering and M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering P.E. license required in Colorado; licensure in other Southwestern states is a plus 5-8 years of relevant experience, especially with tailings impoundments, heap-leach pads, waste rock piles, and mine reclamation Analytical expertise should include: Slope stability Infiltration/Seepage Deformation analyses Geo-civil analyses and design
