Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
We're looking for a highly skilled Construction Engineers to join our team in Cagayan De Oro . This versatile role requires a solid background in construction , with specific expertise in Port and Marine Infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency across multiple project phases, including design, quality assurance/control (QA/QC), and construction management (CM) .
Key responsibilities:
- Undertake review, provision of comments and approval of the Contractor’s technical submissions to verify and confirm conformance with the Employer’s Requirements, Performance & General Specifications, Technical Specifications and alignment with well-established international practices
- Detailed engineering design calculations, specifications, design reports, design drawings, approved for construction (AFC) drawings
- All construction-related technical submissions, i.e work method statements, requests for approvals (RFA), material approval requests (MAR), quality inspections requests (QIR), variations, claims, etc.
- Provide construction supervision and technical support throughout the construction works contract period and, ultimately, verify that the works are completed in accordance with the Employer’s Requirements, General & Performance Specifications and Technical Specifications
- Perform comprehensive quality control inspections of all structural elements for marine and port infrastructure
- Review and approve material submissions for structural components, ensuring they meet project specifications
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, daily logs, and documentation of all structural activities and findings.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
- Expertise in the naval industry
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. Relevant technical certifications from accredited institutions are a significant advantage
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as a Structural Inspector or in a dedicated quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) role for structural works
- Proven experience across all project phases, including material verification, fabrication inspection, on-site construction supervision, and final handover of structural elements
- Strong understanding of concrete designs, pouring procedures, compaction, and curing methods
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a consulting role
