San Antonio - Pipelayer

Job Duties:

SSP Industries is looking for Pipelayers with seasoned experience for our underground utility division. Pay based on past or recent experience and skills in water and sewer/pipelaying. Concrete forming/finishing knowledge is a plus and the ability to operate light equipment is valued. SSP work week is Monday thru Friday with weekends off. Any weekend/emergency after hours work is paid at a higher rate. Average 10 hours per week of overtime is available.

Requirements:

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES Locate existing underground utilities by hand digging potholing Install underground waterlines, sanitary sewer lines and storm sewer lines Backfill waterlines, sanitary sewer lines and storm drain lines utilizing vibratory plates, tampers, jumping jacks and remote-controlled trench compactors General labor and other construction activities as assigned. SAFETY Promote, execute and adhere to SSP safety program Wear required PPE OSHA 10 hour safety training preferred but can be obtained upon hire Attend regular safety trainings. QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/PREFERRED SKILLS Able to work well with others Punctual Attendance and Dependability 2 years prior experience preferred Knowledge of hand and power tools utilized for underground pipe installation Physically able to twist, scoop, bend, kneel, ascend ladders, descend ladders, and walk on uneven ground.
