Construction Site Supervisor

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Construction Site Supervisor to oversee the initial mobilization and earthworks phase of a major infrastructure project. This role will be critical in managing day-to-day site operations, supervising subcontractors and equipment, and ensuring health, safety, and compliance during the development of the site. The successful candidate will work closely with the Construction Manager and contribute to the contracting strategy for Balance of Plant (BoP) components including electrical, mechanical, and buried services.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise mobilization of contractors and heavy equipment, including dozers, excavators, and rollers.
  • Oversee topsoil removal, grading, leveling, and installation of buried services.
  • Coordinate delivery and placement of critical materials.
  • Direct daily activities of subcontractors and trades.
  • Ensure adequate manpower and equipment are available and properly utilized.
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, and quality of work.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and site regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate safety logs and incident reports.
  • Liaise with the Construction Manager, project engineers, and suppliers.
  • Support development of contracting strategy for Balance of Plant scope.
  • Ensure alignment with project timelines and specifications.
  • Maintain daily site logs, progress reports, and equipment usage records.
  • Track material deliveries and site expenditures.
  • Report on schedule progress and potential delays.
Essential Skills
  • 7-12+ years of construction experience, with a minimum of 6 years in Canadian construction.
  • Experience in reporting to project managers with daily reports containing findings and activities on site.
  • Experience dealing with multiple stakeholders, including subcontractors, project managers, and trades.
  • Civil background .
  • Assertiveness as a key soft skill.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Familiarity with modular construction processes is an asset.
  • Experience working on greenfield site development could be considered an asset.
Work Environment

The site is located 20 minutes away from London, ON, and is fully onsite with 40 hours per week, comprising five 8-hour shifts. Overtime is expected after six months. A company vehicle is provided for site travel, and a per-diem/mileage rate is included.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $58.00 - $88.00/hr.
