Job Description This role requires expertise in operating a total station instrument, GPS rover, and level equipment, along with the ability to read a level rod. The candidate should be capable of completing basic field calculations, cutting and clearing survey lines using hand tools, and maintaining a clean work vehicle. Following basic safety procedures and efficiently coordinating work under the direction of Project Managers is essential. The ability to lead and supervise a survey crew is also required. Responsibilities
- Operate total station instruments, GPS rovers, and levels.
- Read level rods and perform basic field calculations.
- Cut and clear survey lines using hand tools.
- Maintain a clean work vehicle and follow basic safety procedures.
- Coordinate work efficiently under the direction of Project Managers.
- Lead and supervise one or more individuals on a survey crew.
- Create plats, drawings, as-built, tree and topographic surveys, and exhibits using AutoCAD.
- Communicate clearly with field crews, engineers, and project managers.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in land surveying.
- Experience with Boundary, topographic surveys, wetland surveys, ALTA, construction staking.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Trimble survey equipment.
- Strong communication skills with field crews, engineers, and project managers.
- High School diploma or G.E.D. required; formal training in a surveying-related field is a plus.
- Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
- Ability to work in a timely and accurate manner.
