Lumber Yard/Load Builder Tasks & Duties (What You'll Do)

Provide superior customer service in yard operation; answers customers' questions and concerns regarding orders and retrieves orders

Assists in gathering materials to build loads/orders-

Assist truck drivers to load various building supplies onto trucks for delivery

Accurately pull items according to pick tickets, build load packages and ensure load is balanced and secure for delivery

Help unload transport trucks with product for the store and yard

Be knowledgeable about all products stored in the yard. Retail or wholesale lumber yard experience needed

Practice proper material handling techniques to ensure minimal damage to yard inventory

Keep the yard area clean and presentable in appearance

Load and unload materials, operate forklift and ensure safe building material handling

Assists in keeping inventory stocked with proper materials-Knowledge of wood and plywood species preferred

May include cleaning the yard, assisting with shipping and receiving or performing other tasks as needed.

Lumber Yard/Load builder Shift Info

Day Shift, 07:00 am to 4:00 pm

Monday - Friday

Lumber Yard/ Load Builder Qualifications (Requirements / Skills)

Knowledge of various material-handling equipment an asset

Proficient in mathematics

Strong understanding of OSHA regulations

Possess a high regard for safety in the workplace

Current forklift license and certification

Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted

Able to work night, weekends, and holidays

Able to work in a fast-paced environment

Able to work independently

Material Handler experience preferred

Able to pass a background check

Able to work in the US
