Position Summary:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Electrical Inspector with a strong background in electrical wiring, testing, and industrial maintenance or electrical contracting. This position is responsible for ensuring the integrity, safety, and compliance of all plant power and control systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with electrical systems in an industrial setting and a deep understanding of relevant codes, testing procedures, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform inspections and testing of electrical wiring, equipment, and control systems in plant facilities.
  • Ensure electrical installations meet NEC (National Electrical Code), local codes, and company standards.
  • Inspect and verify proper installation of motor control centers, switchgear, panels, conduit systems, and PLC wiring.
  • Troubleshoot and evaluate power systems, control circuits, and related electrical issues.
  • Conduct acceptance testing and documentation of new and upgraded installations.
  • Identify and report potential electrical hazards or deviations from plans/specifications.
  • Review electrical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics for compliance and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with electrical contractors, project engineers, and maintenance teams to support new installations and upgrades.
  • Assist with preventative maintenance programs and periodic system audits.
  • Maintain detailed inspection records and provide reports with findings and recommendations.
  • Support the commissioning process of power and control systems in new or modified plant equipment.

Specific Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical maintenance or electrical contracting.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical testing procedures, safety standards, and industrial electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with power distribution, control wiring, PLC systems, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes (NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA).
  • Ability to interpret and analyze electrical schematics, blueprints, and system layouts.
  • Skilled in using multimeters, insulation testers, meggers, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a plant environment.

Preferred:

  • Electrical Journeyman or Master Electrician License.
  • Prior experience with SCADA systems and industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and control loop calibration.
