Fann Contracting, Inc is searching for versatile and
experienced**HEAVYEQUIPMENT OPERATORS**to join our team for local and
statewide projects. Hiring preference is given to candidates with 3 or
more years of experience as a universal operator. Wages will depend upon
experience but typically range from \$24.15 to \$35.75 per hour. Many
positions are local to Prescott while others are statewide. Traveling
with us for work may also include \$70 to \$80 per day subsistence (per
diem).
We specialize in mass excavation, rock handling, underground utilities,
private and public infrastructure, asphalt paving, aggregate crushing,
asphalt hot plant production, and much more. Our projects include public
and private entities including ADOT, FHWA, BIA, city and county
municipalities, private residential and commercial developments.
**These positions may include seats for any or all of the following:**
- Scrapers: 623, 621, 631 and Rock Trucks
- Cat M-Series Blade (140/150 motor graders) 3 or more years
experience required
- GPS Dozer / Motor grader (Blade)
- Cat Excavators (production loading haul units, grading, pipeline,
hammer)
- Cat Dozer D8 to D10
- John Deere and/or Cat Backhoes
- Cat loaders and rollers of all sizes
- Gannon - John Deere 210LE Grade Tractor 4x4
- Pavers and paving equipment
- Wirtgen Mill
**Equipment Operator Responsibilities/Traits**
PLEASE NOTE: This and all job openings at Fann Contracting are
considered**Drug Free/Safety Sensitive**positions which means that all
categories of employment involve some aspect of a heightened danger
requiring an employee\'s full and unimpaired skills and judgment to
safely execute his or her job.**Safety-Sensitive Operations**means any
company position or operation that could affect the safety or health of
the employee or others, including any positions or operations which
utilizes company owned, leased, or rented vehicles, construction or
building equipment, machinery, or power tools, and/or any employee
engaged in construction-related tasks on company project sites.
**All HEO employees must:**
- Work safely at all times; have the ability to recognize and
immediately stop work and report unsafe acts/situations to your
supervisor or Foreman.
- Work closely with Supervisors and co-workers to ensure quality and
safety.
- Perform daily equipment safety and pre check inspections, care for
equipment, including always checking fluid levels before starting.
- Have a strong knowledge of grades, grade steaks and grade checking.
- Have the Ability to comfortably and safely climb up to and down from
the equipment with 3 points of contact.
- Be able to endure bouncing over rough terrain in equipment without
shock absorbing capabilities.
- Have a through awareness of equipment/machine capabilities.
- Be able to work on a pipe crew and work as a laborer when necessary.
- Work as a team player with an excellent attitude.
- Interpret information on grade stakes. Clears, grubs, strips,
excavates, backfills, ditches, stockpiles and pushes scraper with
dozer.
- Understand the cut and fill process with scrapers or other
equipment.
- Load trucks, scarifies material, excavates V ditches and can finish
grade projects for asphalt, curb/gutter.
- Possess basic math skills for measuring yards, tons and stockpiles.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion.
- Load and unload equipment and materials.
- Provide innovative solutions to improve efficiency
- Conduct occasional routine preventive maintenance.
- Log, record or report critical readings or issues with equipment?.
