Large utility is looking for a Project Engineer in Michigan. Long term contract opportunity that offers per diem. This Project Engineer role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or 10 years of relevant design experience, involves leading the design, construction, and maintenance of natural gas compression facilities while applying strong skills in project coordination, technical specification development, procurement, problem-solving, communication, and adaptability to changing priorities.

responsibilities:
  • Lead or assist in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of natural gas compression stations and utility support facilities.

  • Ensure compliance with governmental and company standards and procedures.

  • Interpret and work with project plans, drawings, and specifications.

  • Maintain effective oral and written communication with coworkers and clients.

  • Serve as onsite project representative and attend meetings.

  • Monitor construction sites and track progress based on design documents.

  • Oversee technical staff, coordinate cross-team communication, and manage resource allocation.

  • May serve as the technical point of contact for customers.
Skills:

  • Knowledge of industrial facility or gas compressor station design/operation/construction.

  • Experience with procurement of materials, equipment, and professional services.

  • Experience developing engineering drawings and specifications for consulting/construction services.

  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and emergent work.
Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or

  • 10 years of directly applicable I&C or electrical design experience.
Preferred: Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred but not required.
