About the Role

As a Landscape Supervisor, you'll be the backbone of our landscape maintenance team. You'll lead a crew of 3-5 laborers, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine your landscaping expertise with your ability to manage people and processes.

This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position , working Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM .

What You'll Do

Your primary responsibilities will blend hands-on work with critical leadership duties:

  • Team Leadership: Directly supervise 3-5 crew members, providing instruction and training to ensure safe and efficient work practices.
  • Quality & Safety Assurance: Consistently maintain a very high level of quality in all landscape work. You'll ensure all tools and equipment are in safe working condition daily and that all crew members are working safely and using safety equipment properly.
  • Daily Operations: Take charge of loading equipment each morning and conducting inventory at the end of the day. You'll also monitor time management during breaks.
  • Landscape Maintenance: Perform and supervise core tasks like mowing, leaf removal, trimming, edging, and mulching.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate a variety of equipment, including blowers, weed-eaters, trimmers, mowers, and potentially heavy equipment like bushhogs and tractors.
  • Site Management: Inspect plants and turf for insects or disease (IPM) and notify the Foreman of any issues. You'll also identify and report any vehicle or equipment problems to the mechanic.
  • Reporting: Complete assigned reports related to time and materials used on job sites.
  • Customer Relations: Maintain excellent internal and external customer relations, acting as a solution provider for any landscape-related needs.
  • Seasonal Support: Be actively involved in the snow and ice removal program when applicable.
  • Vehicle Care: Keep the company vehicle clean and transport tools, materials, and employees to and from job sites.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in the landscape maintenance field.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage people, proactively manage all job aspects, and pay close attention to operational details.
  • Communication: Must speak English and have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. The ability to write simple sentences is also required.
  • Mathematical Skills: Competent in basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability: Able to apply common sense to carry out instructions and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Licensure: Must possess a valid drivers license issued from your state of residence, with a driving record that meets our company standards.
  • Physical Demands: You must be able to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds , and occasionally up to 100 pounds. This role requires regular standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment: Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (extreme heat and cold), and exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level can be loud.
