Job Description We are seeking an experienced Piping and Structural Designer/Drafter to join our team. The role involves working from engineer's sketched flow sheets and P&IDs to design and draw all details of seawater and brackish water reverse osmosis systems. The candidate will be responsible for designing various reverse osmosis plant layouts in 3D and transferring information to 2D sketches. The role requires producing designs for equipment/piping, piping tie-ins, equipment arrangement drawings, bill of materials (BOM), piping supports, steel tanks, access walkways, and all other fabricated items around the desalination plant. Responsibilities
- Design complete details of seawater and brackish water reverse osmosis systems from engineer's sketches.
- Develop 3D plant layouts and convert them into 2D sketches.
- Produce designs for equipment arrangement, piping tie-ins, and other fabricated items around the desalination plant.
- Create bills of materials (BOM) and piping supports.
- Visualize items within a 3D space to ensure no interference upon installation.
- Collaborate with project managers to gather measurement data from existing water/reverse osmosis equipment.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Plant 3D preferred.
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in an engineering or CAD discipline preferred.
- 3-5 years minimum professional work experience highly preferred.
- Relevant experience in the water treatment industry, including reverse osmosis system design.
- Mechanical design experience with various piping materials including PVC, stainless steel, and FRP.
- Strong 2D/3D CAD experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Projects is a plus.
- Skilled in Autodesk Plant 3D, Autodesk Vault, Autodesk AutoCAD, and general PC usage.
- Ability to produce drawings using drafting techniques outlined in department SPO.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions provided in various forms.
