An Industrial Piping Project Estimator entails analyzing project blueprints and specifications to accurately calculate and determine the cost of an industrial piping project, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs, by performing detailed quantity take-offs, estimating labor hours, and identifying potential challenges to create a comprehensive and competitive bid proposal, while collaborating with project managers, clients, staff, and suppliers to ensure project feasibility and profitability; requiring a strong understanding of industrial piping systems, construction methods, and relevant industry standards. This position is in-office, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (40 hours per week), and may require additional hours to meet project deadlines.

**Key Responsibilities:**

Estimate Development

- Thoroughly review project plans, specifications, piping isometrics, and P&IDs to understand the scope of work o Perform detailed quantity take-offs for piping materials (pipe, fittings, valves, supports, etc.)

- Calculate labor hours based on project complexity, pipe sizes, and crew composition.

- Estimate costs for equipment, specialty items, and subcontractor services

- Identify potential risks and contingencies to factor into the estimate

- Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed

- Ensure all estimates align with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.

- Obtain pricing from vendors for materials and equipment Communication and Collaboration

- Collaborate with clients, vendors, Bolt Construction project managers, and staff to clarify project requirements.

- Create and respond to Request for Proposal (RFP's)

- Issue Request for Information (RFI's) for missing or contradicting requirements.

- Present project estimates to Bolt project managers, highlighting key cost drivers and value propositions Bid Preparation

- Develop and submit project bids to Bolt Construction project managers. Knowledge, Qualifications, and Skills o Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

- Proven experience in industrial piping estimating o Strong mathematical skills

- Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) experience Isometrics/Project drawings

- Blue Beam

- All Microsoft applications

- Utilization of 3D models to assist in interpreting project drawings

- Take-offs

- Industrial piping standards, codes, and best practices

- Pipe materials, sizes, and welding techniques.

- Detailed oriented

- Proficiency in estimating software and CAD applications

- Purchase Orders

- Excellent reading and interpretation skills for technical drawings and specifications

- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills

- Time management to meet project deadlines efficiently

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Effective multitasking

- Excellent communication to interact with vendors
