About This Role:

As a Senior Capital Project Manager, you will be part of the Capital Project Management team, responsible for driving the successful delivery of capital projects valued at over $1M. Reporting to the Head of Capital Project Management, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring consistent, accurate, and precise project execution, aligned with global best practices and standards. Your work will span from the pre-capital feasibility stage through project closeout, where you will lead projects that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and compliance.

By collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners, you will help optimize manufacturing processes and infrastructure while ensuring financial and accounting audit success for managed projects. This role presents an exciting opportunity to elevate capital project performance and provide significant value to site operations through methodical and efficient project delivery.

This is a hybrid role to be based at our offices in Research Triangle Park, NC.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop front-end planning deliverables, including business cases, scopes, cost estimates, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments for assigned projects.

  • Manage all aspects of an assigned portfolio of capital projects, including budgets, schedules, engineering, construction, coordination, and safety.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to achieve project success in functionality, budget, safety, quality, and schedule.

  • Oversee onboarding and management of external contractors, engineering firms, construction managers, and other contributors to project execution.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and global standards for capital project execution.

  • Conduct and support successful outcomes of financial and accounting audits for assigned projects.

  • Collaborate with project sponsors and stakeholders to align project goals and objectives.

  • Identify and mitigate risks through detailed risk assessment processes.

  • Resolve engineering, sequencing, and quality issues during construction activities.

  • Evaluate customer-driven changes and implement resolutions accordingly.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal policies, training, contract development, and execution procedures.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical, or related field) or construction management.

  • At least 4 years of capital portfolio and major project management experience.

  • Proven project management and technical knowledge with demonstrated ability to deliver safe, effective, and compliant projects.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in leading capital execution teams within a matrix capacity.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to executive management and technical experts.

  • Advanced knowledge of HSE and GxP/QA compliance standards.

  • Understanding of key non-technical business processes, including human relations and finance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with EcoSys, eBuilder, or similar project management tools.

  • Master's degree in business or a relevant field.

Additional Information

The base compensation range for this role is: $91,000.00-$118,000.00

Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
