Overview

The Yukon Flats Project is recruiting for its seasonal exploration program in Birch Creek, Alaska, running between July and October .

The Equipment Operator is r es ponsible for planning, preparing , and executing the operation of Heavy Industrial and Construction Equipment and rolling stock fleet at the assigned project in the remote Yukon Flats region.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Operate, troubleshoot, test, and perform mechanical repairs or maintenance tasks on production equipment, heavy equipment, all rolling stock, etc. in a safe, economic, and environmentally sound manner without supervision Production equipment can include gas turbines, reciprocating compressors, gas dehydration systems, three phase separators, treaters, transmission equipment and pumps
  • Work closely with the operations team, instrument techs , and electricians on a variety of maintenance projects in the Yukon Flats Project
  • Perform routine PM work on all equipment and maintain equipment readiness
  • Perform roll-over PMs on pumps and equipment in standby
  • Identifies opportunities for improvements in equipment and communicates solutions to the Supervisor
  • Participating in facility and/or drill site modifications and special projects as needed , or performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
  • Assisting in the resolution of technical problems and safety issues

HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain an excellent personal safety and environmental record and competently perform daily functions to ensure safe practices and environmental compliance in accordance with Fairweather policies
  • Responsible for participating in all safety training and assisting in safety procedures such as basic first aid, CPR, fire drills, spill response and emergency evacuation
  • Meeting and keeping current with required operator certifications, regulatory training and compliance requirements

COMMUNICATION:

  • Maintaining operational accountability and keeping the Supervisor updated on the operational status of the assigned area
  • Notifying Supervisor of complex maintenance issues that require corrective action
  • Communicating daily operational goals and needs effectively to operations personnel and Production Superintendent
  • Reporting all spills, near misses, injuries, and property damage to the Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience with facility maintenance in the oil and gas industry
  • Ability to work a 2-week on and 2-week off schedule in the remote Yukon Flats Region.
