**Location:** Des Moines, IA | **Type:** Contract-to-Hire | **Schedule:** Full-Time
**Job Description:** Are you someone who enjoys being outdoors, working with your hands, and learning something new every day? Were looking for a **Material Testing Technician** to join a team that plays a critical role in making sure streets, buildings, and infrastructure are built to last.
*This is a great opportunity for someone with a construction or labor back ground whos ready to grow into a specialized trade. No prior testing experience? No problemwell train you.
**Pay:** $18 - $20/hour starting wage (Career Growth Available)
**Requirements:** Construction experience (concrete is a plus) / Valid Driver's License - Clean record & MVR Check
**What Youll Be Doing:**
+ Test soil and concrete at job sites to ensure they meet engineering specs
+ Inspect rebar and masonry before concrete is poured
+ Visit 34 job sites daily, working independently most of the time
+ Use basic math and communication skills to record and report results
+ Help ensure the safety and stability of roads, buildings, and more
**What You Bring:**
+ Construction or general labor experience
+ Ability to lift 5060 lbs and work outdoors in all weather
+ Clean driving record and ability to pass a back ground and drug test
+ Bonus if you have experience in material testing or geology (more starting wage)
