Design Engineer

Objective

Join a well-established manufacturing organization serving the Oil & Gas and Industrial sectors. This role seeks a skilled Design Engineer specialist to enhance manufacturing excellence and drive innovation across dual facility operations. Responsibilities

• Engineer and refine gear production methodologies encompassing machining, hobbing, grinding, and thermal treatment processes
• Analyze technical drawings and product specifications to maintain quality benchmarks and performance criteria
• Evaluate and recommend optimal tooling, materials, and equipment for gear manufacturing operations
• Create custom fixtures and specialized tooling solutions to enhance production capabilities
• Champion continuous improvement methodologies and lean manufacturing principles
• Partner with cross-functional teams including design, quality assurance, and production to address manufacturing obstacles
• Lead troubleshooting efforts and implement corrective measures for gear-related product issues
• Maintain expertise in industry developments, gear standards (AGMA, ISO), and advancing technologies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent discipline
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in high-volume gear manufacturing environments
• Proven experience developing heat treatment protocols with strong metallurgical background
• Comprehensive knowledge of gear configurations (spur, helical, bevel, etc.) and cutting techniques
• Proficiency with CNC machining systems, CAD/CAM applications, and gear design software
• Deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles; Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively in team-oriented environments
