Primary Function:

This role will identify and implement automation opportunities, complete DFM based on customer RFQ and requirements, and design manual/semi-auto/automated machines and production lines. The engineer will also design, integrate, and deploy fixtures, jigs, and EOAT required for automation and manufacturing processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand customer's specifications and requirements, ensuring alignment with their production goals and manufacturing needs.
  • Identify automation opportunities within current manufacturing processes by analyzing workflows and pinpointing areas for efficiency gains.
  • Develop stations and automation lines based on the customer’s RFQ and automation initiatives.
  • Execute conceptualization, FMEA, DFM, and iterative design reviews including 2D/3D designs, hardware selection, and BOM development.
  • Apply modularization and standardization principles in design to ensure scalability and maintenance.
  • Support machine installation, assembly, and line setup, ensuring smooth integration and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors to ensure project quality.
  • Provide training to operations teams on usage and maintenance of newly implemented systems.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including BOM, assembly guides, testing protocols, and user manuals.
  • Support cross-functional units in resolving equipment-related issues.
  • Assist cross-functional teams in developing automation specifications.
  • Support FAT and SAT activities to validate automation system functionality.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Relationship Management

  • Collaborates closely with cross-functional engineering teams, vendors, and external integrators.

Self-Management

  • Demonstrates initiative and autonomy in handling design responsibilities. Reports regularly to the Department Director.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Required Experience

  • 3–5 years in mechanical design and automation engineering within a manufacturing setting.
