A day in the life... as a Railroad General Laborer, your duty is train washing, carpentry labor, plumbing labor, mechanic labor and material handling, and job site cleanup as assigned by the Chief Mechanical Officer.

Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirement listed below is representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Qualifications:

Basic carpentry skills.

Basic mechanical skills.

Basic plumbing skills.

Strong communication skills.

Curiosity and ability to learn and to follow directions.

The ability to read and understand construction documentation.

Professional appearance.

Ability to perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis, including lifting up to 100 pounds.

All candidates must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for performing train washing, carpentry labor, plumbing labor, mechanic labor and material handling, and job site cleanup as assigned by the Chief Mechanical Officer.

Ongoing development and knowledge of applying carpentry, mechanical and plumbing skills and basic construction techniques to maintain railcars, buildings and vehicles.

Maintains a safe and clean job site.

Respectful of customers property. Protects furniture/belongings from construction materials, debris, etc.

Understands and complies with all company policies and safety guidelines.

Maintains excellent company image; demonstrates integrity and trust.

Demonstrates positive customer and fellow employee relations.

Attends company meetings and company functions as requested.

Miscellaneous and other duties as assigned. Required Tools:

Some railroad specialty tools are available, all other tools provided by employee.
