The Work:

As an Assistant Project Manager, you will report to the Commissioning Line of Business Manager and will, under direct supervision, plan and coordinate the activities of one or more projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame, and according to project budget requirements. In this role you will collaborate with Project Managers to ensure projects are aligned and work closely with leadership towards the successful growth and management of the program, ensuring that financial goals and objectives are maximized. You will work on developing the skills to become a Subject Matter Expert in construction, engineering, commissioning, and/or energy related services and technology.

This position is REMOTE, but we are only considering candidates local to the Washington, D.C. area and you must be able to travel to client sites up to 20% of the time. The majority of our clients are in the Eastern Time Zone of the United States, especially in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Facilitate and ensure positive communication between the project teams, project management, and clients.

+ Collaborate with senior managers and decision-makers to identify and solve a variety of problems and meet client objectives.

+ Assist the management team with the development, creation, and distribution of project reports and presentation materials.

+ Assist the project management team to ensure projects are on time, with complete and accurate submissions, per the delivery schedule.

+ Plan, schedule, monitor, and coordinate project personnel and tasks.

+ Develop project plans, budgets, and schedules with input from, program and project management.

+ Organize and manage project schedules and databases to ensure timely and accurate project tracking.

+ Maintain project control documents including but not limited to Transmittal Log, Issues Log, Punch Lists, and Test Results.

+ Record project meetings and distribute meeting summaries accordingly.

+ Maintain project compliance documents and ensure projects meet Quality Assurance and Safety requirements.

+ Collect and review closeout documents in support of successful transition and acceptance of projects to real property.

+ Lead and facilitate group initiatives, foster team cohesion, and manage collaborative efforts with strong organizational oversight.

+ Cultivate and maintain trusted relationships with internal departments and external partners.

+ Guide and manage high-performing teams while executing strategic plans to meet organizational objectives.

+ Deliver assignments with reliability and integrity, ensuring authoritative and timely execution of responsibilities.

+ Anticipate challenges, develop creative solutions, and exercise sound judgment in problem-solving

+ Prepare accurate, detailed, and high-quality work products across assignments.

+ Disseminate information both in writing and verbally, explaining complex technical information clearly to engineers, contractors, and facility/owner staff across all communication platforms.

+ Demonstrate your punctuality, reliability and self-motivation.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field and at least 6 years of directly relevant MEP (Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing) Construction OR Commissioning experience. An additional 5 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

+ Must be proficient with the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Citizenship/Clearance Requirements:

+ Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain up to a Top Secret clearance due to our customer requirements and the nature of the work that we do.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ An Active Secret or higher Security Clearance.

+ Professional Commissioning experience.

+ Construction Documentation, Project Management, or other related certifications.

+ PMP Certification.

Physical Considerations:

+ Must be able to walk construction sites with uneven surfaces, carry up to 25 lbs., climb stairs and ladders, and work both indoors and outdoors in severe weather conditions, in confined spaces, and in dust generating environments.

+ Must be able to maintain spatial awareness and comply with safety standards while working near mechanical and electrical building equipment and systems.

+ Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
