About the Job:

We are seeking a Project Superintendent for our Rochester operation near Lovelock, NV. This position will report to the Assistant General Manager. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for leading the project team to deliver all sustaining and development capital projects at the mine site.

This position will require company-supported relocation to Northern Nevada to work 4 days on, 3 days off schedule on-site at Coeur Rochester near Lovelock, NV.

Responsibilities:

  • Champion a strong safety culture by modeling safe behavior, reinforcing critical controls, and ensuring all project activities meet Coeur's safety and environmental standards
  • Lead safety reviews, risk assessments, and pre-startup planning to ensure zero harm and regulatory alignment across all phases of project execution
  • Proactively identify and manage environmental risks within project scopes; ensure compliance with regulatory and permitting requirements
  • Lead the site's capital projects team in the safe and efficient execution of all sustaining and growth-related projects, from initiation through closeout
  • Instill a culture of ownership and follow-through by setting clear expectations, reinforcing accountability, and addressing issues proactively across all phases of project delivery
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within approved budgets, and to defined quality and safety standards
  • Develop and manage the annual CAPEX budget and internal resourcing strategy for capital execution
  • Oversee project scope development in collaboration with CAPEX owners and operational leaders, ensuring alignment with site priorities and long-range planning
  • Manage project prioritization and cost controls; ensure accurate forecasting, change management, and reporting
  • Lead month-end project reporting, including progress tracking, cost performance, variance analysis, and forecasting updates for site leadership and corporate stakeholders
  • Ensure all projects follow the site's Management of Change (MOC) process; lead timely completion of MOC documentation to support safe and compliant execution
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project schedules and resource plans; identify and mitigate schedule risk through proactive intervention
  • Coordinate contractor and consultant activities, ensuring safety, performance, and adherence to project timelines and scopes
  • Lead preparation of AFEs, scopes of work, technical bid evaluations, and contract award recommendations
  • Champion risk assessments, constructability reviews, and stage gate approvals to ensure project readiness and risk mitigation
  • Facilitate stakeholder communication across Technical Services, Operations, Process, and Corporate teams
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback to project engineers and coordinators; support career development within the team

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgy, or Mining)
  • PMP certification preferred; demonstrated structured project management approach required
  • 8+ years of progressive project leadership experience, including delivery of multi-disciplinary capital projects >$10M in total installed cost
  • Strong knowledge in cost estimation, scheduling, progress tracking, document control, and reporting
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and interfacing effectively with operations, technical services, contractors, and corporate stakeholders
  • Knowledge of open pit mine operations and familiarity with surface construction, regulations, best practices and performance standards
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Ability to complete financial modelling and business impact analysis to support decision-making and project justification
  • Proven ability to coach and develop high-performing teams
  • Strong decision-making ability and leadership presence
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Project)
