Job Description:
Purpose:
The Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the Maintenance Supervisor with the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure. This role emphasizes electrical expertise in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including power supply wiring and conduit for machinery and equipment.
- Safely work with both three-phase and single-phase wiring systems.
- Diagnose and repair issues with transformers, motors, control boxes, wiring, and other electrical apparatus.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Plan and lay out wiring for new equipment and facility upgrades, including phone and network lines.
- Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment, hoists, cranes, and building systems.
- Oversee and maintain facility HVAC and compressed air systems.
- Adhere strictly to lockout/tagout and all other safety procedures.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Relocate machinery and equipment as needed.
- Recycle or refurbish electrical and mechanical components where possible.
- Support the plant's continuous improvement and quality system initiatives.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Ensure electrical and facility systems are safely maintained and operational.
- Reduce equipment downtime through timely and accurate repairs.
- Maintain compliance with safety policies, including lockout/tagout procedures.
- Support production goals by ensuring uninterrupted facility and equipment operation.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Associate degree or certification in electrical technology or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1+ year of experience in electrical maintenance in an industrial setting preferred.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, electrical schematics, operating and maintenance manuals, and technical documents. Ability to communicate clearly with team members and write routine reports.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate measurements, ratios, and interpret technical data (e.g., voltage, amperage).
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to identify, analyze, and solve technical problems involving various systems and equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and arms, talk and hear. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb. Occasionally required to sit or crawl. Must be able to lift/move 25 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally. Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and color distinction.
Work Environment:
Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical hazards. Exposure to airborne particles, fumes, and potentially caustic chemicals. May work in high or confined spaces and occasionally outdoors. Noise level: Moderate to loud, depending on area and equipment.
