Duties Description Assist in the review of drawings, specifications, and contract documents to retrieve data for the construction materials and procedures of construction projects.
- Inspect on-site construction materials used by contractors for small or single trade construction projects.
- Assist in the inspection of a portion of large State building construction projects to assure contractor adherence to specifications, contracts, and work standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Operational Needs:
- Travel is required (approximately 50%).
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver's License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required, or otherwise demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.
Minimum Qualifications Associate degree in Engineering, Architectural Technology or Construction Technology.
OR
Two years of experience assisting in the management of the building construction phase for medium to large construction projects from the inception to completion in the areas of cost estimating, document coordination review, adherence to building codes, construction planning/scheduling contract document reading and interpretation, and construction inspection.
NOTE: IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK.
