The Computer Operator III Team Lead supports activities of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) Enterprise Services Center (ESC) by providing oversight of the printing and scanning activities for the Media Solutions department. The Computer Operator III Team Lead works with ESC Management as well as CSP staff to ensure all areas of production are covered and maintains an efficient processes to ensure all assigned work is completed. This position refers problems that respond to corrective procedures to a supervisor or a higher-level contributor. The Computer Operator III Team Lead is a supervisory position with responsibilities of managing processes and performance of team members in his/her functional area.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Interact with the Program Manager, contract Supervisor, SMEs, FAA supervisors, COR, program analyst and Unit Manager of the FAA Media Solutions in preparation and maintenance of various reports. Provide oversight and direction to all contractors assigned to the FAA Media Solutions printing/scanning efforts.
Must be familiar with all normal operating processes.
Ensures all processes are documented and trained to appropriate contract personnel.
Monitor print and scan systems queue; and initiate printing and scanning. Monitor in-house print queue and work bins set up of jobs and printing using High speed state of the art printers and software requiring minimal labor support.
Operate all equipment including but not limited to high-speed laser printers, large format printers, impact printers, color printers and scanners.
Apply knowledge for setting up print/scan jobs, printing/scanning and proper document destruction. Including those requiring special setup of forms, fonts, signatures, merges.
Perform reprint and corrections of jobs from servers or printers as needed.
Responds to inquiries from agency personnel, applicants, and the general public concerning printing and distribution work orders. Refers inquiries to appropriate specialist or assistant when necessary.
Responds to requests for printing and distribution requests received by telephone, voice mail, correspondence, electronic mail, or facsimile. Photocopies form letters, applications, etc.
Prepares mailing labels, assembles requested information, and mails it to customers.
Updates records in accordance with prescribed policy and procedures. Update spreadsheets and price print work orders with simple addition. Print work orders, prepare mailing labels, and send them to the appropriate department.
Prepares work orders to be printed by print shop. This may include typesetting, file manipulation, file organization and customer interaction.
Utilize scanners to produce digital copies of documents for retention purposes. Scanned documents will be stored on Alto server, various local, network, and cloud storage devices.
Quality check all work verifying that it is correct and of acceptable quality. Jobs are reviewed on a job-by-job basis.
Ensure all jobs are delivered according to instructions.
Load printers with appropriate paper or forms. This may require moving of pallets of paper and lifting of boxes weighing up to approximately 50 pounds. These functions may be performed daily.
Apply knowledge as needed for basic maintenance and cleaning of machines. Such as adding toner, fuser oil, staple wire, ribbons, paper, removal of paper jams and cleaning of machine as needed.
Inventory of printing supplies such as paper, ribbon, toner, developer, tape binds, GBC, fuser oil, film, etc. to be done bi-weekly and order placed to appropriate government personnel as needed.
Log calls for printer maintenance and document purpose of call and action taken by vendor as needed.
Collecting and distributing print and scan jobs for customers as needed.
Reading and following work instructions and policies necessary for processing jobs.
Destruction of media as needed.
Responsible for employee tracking and maintaining records for attendance, performance, etc. Uses utmost discretion in handling sensitive or confidential information.
Responsible for training, coaching, mentoring, auditing and performance improvement of employees within the department, ensuring all appropriate processes are understood and followed.
Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in his/her functional area and serves as a point of contact in the absence of the Manager. Establishes and maintains relationships with admins and other functional contacts for the timely resolution of issues, enhancements, etc.
Effectively manages time and scheduling to ensure print and scanning duties are covered. Takes responsibility to ensure team members are assigned to appropriate duties based on customer needs and quickly responds to moving employees to alternate duties when needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent and three (3) years of Printing / Scanning experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is primarily performed in an office/warehouse setting. Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, occasionally above head. Regularly required to twist at the waist, climb and descend stairs while carrying objects. Ability to speak and hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Regularly lifts and/or moves up to thirty pounds, and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to fifty pounds. Works near moving mechanical parts. Regularly exposed to general office and general office machinery noise. May be exposed to warehouse, truck or forklift noise.

The estimated pay range for this role is $28 to $30, with the final offer contingent on location, skillset, and experience.
