HMHAI is currently looking to expand our team with the right ARCHITECT / PROJECT MANAGER in Boulder, Colorado.
The HMH team is passionate about bringing forward great design and execution as well as fostering a culture of collaboration and outreach in our community. This role rewards a self-starter, with opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to the design of individual projects as well as the everyday operations of the firm.
The successful candidate is someone who is organized, with strong design skills and attention to detail. The candidate should be capable of collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, while also taking responsibility for getting the job done.
About the Role:
The Project Manager (PM) is a central player in the success of individual projects, contributing to the wellbeing and growth of HMH. The PM leads the project team, plays a key role in the design, and is highly interactive with the client. As a Project Manager you must manage the details of specific tasks, schedules, budgets, and staff while simultaneously upholding the desired end result. This role is critical to the success of a project and the on-going strength of the firm.
Qualifications:
8 or more years of architectural office experience, 4+ years in high-end custom residential preferred
Master's / Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience
Experience in complete project delivery including managing construction documents through all architectural phases from schematic design through construction administration, ideally including the management of at least one high-end residential project from start to finish
Experience in managing complicated land use and permitting with detailed knowledge of building codes. Permitting experience in Boulder and CO state a plus.
Technical skills that include proficiency with materials, specifications, construction detailing, critical thinking and problem solving
Strong communication skills with experience communicating directly with clients, contractors, and consultants
Must be willing to work in our downtown Boulder office up to 5 days per week.
Proficiency in ArchiCAD is preferred. Training is available for exceptional candidates.
Licensure preferred but not required
Responsibilities:
Manage project documentation, permitting, consultant coordination, scheduling, and project tracking through all phases
Manage multiple projects simultaneously
Lead coordination with contractors and consultants
Management and mentorship of team members
Support the design process
Manage the creation of presentation materials and present directly to clients on design and technical solutions
Travel to regular job site meetings
