We are seeking a skilled Jigs and Fixture Tool Maker. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and maintaining jigs and fixtures that enhance production efficiency and ensure high-quality output. This role requires a strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of machining processes, and the ability to collaborate with various teams. Competitive pay rate dependent on experience level.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop jigs and fixtures based on project specifications.
Utilize CAD software to create detailed designs and blueprints.
Fabrication:
Cut, grind, mill, drill, turn, weld, heat treat, and assemble fixtures and gauges per requirements.
Fabricate jigs, gauges, and fixture tooling based on specifications derived from blueprints, sketches, models, descriptions, and direct communication with customers.
Maintenance and Repair:
Perform routine maintenance on jigs and fixtures to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshoot and repair existing jigs and fixtures as needed.
Quality Control:
Conduct inspections of jigs and fixtures to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
Implement improvements based on feedback from production teams.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of designs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
Create and update technical documentation for jigs and fixtures.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to safety regulations and practices in the workshop environment.
Promote a culture of safety among team members.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Proven experience as a tool maker, ideally in the furniture manufacturing industry
Familiarity with machining and tooling processes
Skills:
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) preferred
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy materials and tools.
Comfortable working in a factory environment with various machinery.
