Heavy Repair and Planning Supervisor

Manage technicians in the Heavy Repair and Operations Engineering sections and oversee activities and functions related to carpentry, masonry, welding, equipment operation, requirements optimization, activity management, warranty management and develop future construction priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide effective management of personnel and activities associated with CE Heavy Repair and Operations Engineering.
  • Manage workload of multiple trades and effectively assign personnel to tasks in a manner that optimizes section effectiveness.
  • Execute multi craft small projects and enhancement work ensuring mission requirements and customer needs are met.
  • Determine priorities, develop plans, implement policies and procedures to ensure the success of numerous routine and special time critical activities and tasks are met.
  • Administer warranty management for all newly installed real property assets over $5,000. Work with vendor to ensure products meet or exceed warranty date.
  • Work with Government personnel/COTR to resolve problems concerning contract support services, maintain effective working relationship with customers.
  • Provide needed assistance to subordinates in resolving work related issues and or problems.
  • Support internal quality assurance program in accordance with contract requirements, procedures, manuals, and other pertinent directives.
  • Provide oral and written status reports, routine and ad hoc, as scheduled or requested to the COTR and or Project managers.
  • Supervise work force, enforce company policies, and procedures for effective and efficient operations; evaluate subordinates and counsel as necessary on performance.
  • Establish procedures to develop and train personnel to ensure knowledgeable, technically proficient staff; review and monitor work to determine training needs.
  • Be knowledgeable of and enforce AKIMA management and safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen able to pass a NAC background check
  • Formal technical school training, civilian or military, in a USAF Civil Engineering craft field
  • Ten years minimum in a military or heavy construction career field
  • Three to five years supervisory experience with a USAF Civil Engineering facilities operations and maintenance workforce
  • Excellent communication skills in writing and speaking
